Dear Friends,
Our most heartfelt wish is that and your loved ones are safe and well. We at Triphammer Arts/CRS Barn Studio are all healthy: Jeanne is in the studio daily, creating new dances, soon to be performed. Our organic vegetable farm is going full speed, and Steve is in the field tilling, planting, and harvesting every day – as well as collaborating on “virtual” projects with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra and Opera Ithaca.
And the seeds of new ideas are also sprouting, as we re-envision and re-invent “live performance” at the farm, and we are delighted to introduce Drive-In LIVE!! - safe, small-scale, LIVE outdoor performance events feasturing musicians and dancers. A new outdoor performance space has been cleared in the field below the barn, with beautiful views in three directions. New stage platforms are being constructed, to allow safe distancing for performers.
Audience members will park in clearly defined, distanced spaces and we ask that you remain in or near your car during the hour-long show. Sound will be amplified. Admission prices will be affordable, and ticketing will be done on line…although you may notice a donation bucket as you begin to drive away….
Like all performing arts organizations, Triphammer Arts Inc. is adjusting daily to the changes required during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the 2020 season is still a “work-in progress,” please know that we are moving forward. We love a challenge, and we will update you about future projects that can be accomplished with the utmost regard for safety for audience and performers.
Our motto for the future is: MOVE…GROW…CHANGE…..Triphammer Arts supports racial equality on the stage, in the studio, in our community, and in the community at large.

The Cocoa Cantata - postponed until 2021
Music by Robert Paterson, Libretto by David Cote
World premiere coming in 2021! A brilliant boutique chocolatier... a global chocolate brand...A “supercocoa” engineered by a confectionary chemist...The business of chocolate is not as sweet as the product!
Triphammer Arts is commissioning award winning composer Robert Paterson andlibrettist/playwright David Cote to create a new mini-drama for our time - inspired by J. S. Bach’s Coffee Cantata. Scored for three singers, string quartet, flute and keyboard, the new piece explores fair-trade practices, the chemistry and symbolism of chocolate, and gender dynamics in the corporate boardroom. The piece will be accessible to anyone who loves chocolate—or great music!
We need your help!
We're partnering with The Arts at Grace in Cortland and The Society for New Music in Syracuse for this brand new piece. The Triphammer Arts' share of the Commission to pay the composer, librettist, and engraving costs is $18,000. We have paid our first two installments, help us finish the task!
